March 27, 2025 – The Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) XII, held an Adoption and Alternative Child Care Program orientation to the Local Government Unit of Alamada, Cotabato.

The event was organized by the Local Government of Alamada for the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children and the Local Council for the Protection of Children. Present during the orientation were the Local Civil Registrar, the Municipal Council, the Philippine National Police, the Academe (DepEd), Sangguniang Kabataan and the MSWDO. The event aims to educate and cultivate awareness to the participants on the administrative process of adoption (R.A 11642), the Simulated Birth Rectification Act (R.A 11222) and the Philippine Foster Care Program and the existence of the National Authority for Child Care as an attached agency of the DSWD that solely caters the concerns about the process of legal adoption and alternative child care.

Ms. Aloha T. Ballos, MTSW, RSW, head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Alamada, extended her gratitude to the Regional Alternative Child Care Office XII team, headed by Ms. Jollybelle B. Arogante, RSW, for sharing their expertise and time on the salient features of the R.A 11642. She added, that the orientation was fruitful as all participants were able to grasp the important insights.

This engagement further strengthens the commitment of the Regional Alternative Child Care Office XII and partner Local Government Units (LGU’s) in providing substantial and relevant engagements that benefits the children as the heart of the agency.
